Emily Irene VanCamp who initially set out to become a professional dancer became interested in acting after visiting her sister Katie in the making of the movie Ladies Room. As she took acting classes, she also landed guest roles on Canadian TV programs. She was a part of in a variety of shows, including in the series Are You Fearful of Dark? Radio Active and Dice. VanCamp had a career breakthrough following his appearance as main character Sam Dolan on the WB horror-themed mystery series Glory Days. Even even though the show received great reviews, it unfortunately had to be pulled after only nine episode because of its low ratings. However, she was successful to secure a new role Amy Abbott on Everwood. This role led to her being nominated for a Young Artist Award nominee and for four Teen Choice Awards.
