Julie Chen Moonves hosted the popular summer reality show Big Brother which returned to CBS for its 22nd season on August 5. Chen Moonves had been The Talk's first hosts, hosting and moderating the show between 2010 and 2018. But her real passion was when she added writer to her roles and earned an Emmy for her work. The Talk, her outstanding talk show earned the host an Emmy. From 2002 to 2010 Chen Moonves was the co-host for CBS News' morning weekday broadcast The Early Show. Before that she was the CBS Morning News anchor and hosts for The Early Show. Following the attacks of 9/11, Chen Moonves tracked down the father and lead hijacker for a thrilling and exclusive interview. Chen Moonves has interviewed newsmakers like the former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, Queen Rania of Jordan, former Defence Secretary William Cohen, and celebrities such as Denzel Washington, Angelina Jolie, Kanye West, Taylor Swift, Viola Davis, Tom Hanks, Mary J. Blige, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Cruise, Ben Affleck, Barbra Streisand, Betty White, Jamie Foxx, Scarlett Johansson, Katie Holmes, Matthew McConaughey, Chris Rock, Mel Brooks, Robert DeNiro, and Jennifer Lopez. Chen Moonves covered the Emmy Award-winning CBS Sunday Morning News broadcast. He also interviewed celebrities such as Jamie Lee Curtis or Paula Abdul. Before joining The Early Show he was the CBS affiliated station's reporter at New York City, WCBS. While completing her last year of university, she worked as an assistant at ABC News in Los Angeles (1990-1991) as well as the director of ABC NewsOne (the network's affiliated news service). Her first job in broadcasting was as a desk associate to ABC News' late-night broadcast Nightline together with Ted Koppel, who remains one of her journalism heros. Chen Moonves was Koppel's co-worker on Anatomy of a Riot (the Premiertime Special of Columbia du-Pont that focused on the Los Angeles riots of 1992).
